Binny's Beverage Depot
-
Wine lovers rejoice. This is arguably the best wine and gourmet food store in the city. There are aisles after aisles after mind-boggling aisles of just about every type and brand of wine you could want. What is equally astonishing are the prices. You can get a good bottle of wine for less than $10. For the connoisseur, check out the large selection of vintage and collectible wines. In the back of the store is a deli that sells a fine variety of cheese, crackers, and other party type fare.

Borderline
-
Formerly: Eclectic music, eclectic people, extensive beer selection-- It must be-- Oh my gosh it is-- a Wicker Park bar! Just around the corner from Cafe Absinthe, downstairs from Red Dog and within a stone's throw (if you have a good arm) of several other delightful drinking and dancing establishments, Borderline is at ground zero of the Wicker park entertainment explosion. A smallish bar that's usually pleasantly crowded (lots of interesting people to look at, talk to, etc.) Come here to see the cool kids when they're not dancing their mod little hearts out. No cover, beer prices are somewhat reasonable.

Davenport's Piano Bar & Cabaret
-
Only a stone's throw from the raucous nightlife at Wicker Park's North-Damen-Milwaukee intersection lies a small spot where bombastic rock is replaced by lounge and cabaret. Everything inside Davenport's is swank: from the blue velvet walls and recessed lighting to the single-malt Scotches and pricey champagne. The front room serves as a piano bar where servers and patrons alike are liable to break into song.

The walls, lined with sheet music and famous movie stars of yesteryear, give you the feeling The Redhead has been here for fifty years. The ambiance creates an atmosphere of congeniality and warmth, bringing back the memories of Chicago's elegant night life.
